I know there is a few military people here, so i am hoping someone may be able to help me find out what this medal is (although it dont think its a specificaly a military medal). Recently while my grandparents were going through old things they found an on medal and wanted to know if it was worth something, but so far i have been unable to find out what it is. Even my father who serverd in the army for many years is stumped as to what it is.

Unfortunatly i dont have any picture of it, but the medal is a maltese cross (no ribbon on it), made of copper or corroded iron/steel. Each of the 4 front faces of the cross list a date, as well as the birth, jubilee, marraige etc... of the queen. and on the reverse of the medal it lists the verses of God save the Queen.

well unfortunatly i have no way of getting a pictue of it at the moment, i was hoping the description would be enough.

after a bit of searching i managed to find an image online of what i think is the medal

, according to that its a queen victoria jubilee medal, the only problem is, when i search for that none of them mention the god save the queen on the back, and some just show pictures of a blank back. Also the queen head is either missing on this medal, or just worn down as its a blank circle in the center now.

Okay it sounds identical to one I found when my grandpa died which wasn't one of his medals. It was a WW1 medal because it appeared to be someone a bit older than him. Not a Victoria Cross although similar looking but it's a bravery medal and it has the man's name on it. Would love to find out about the guy and how grandpa happened to have his medal, but I guess it's too late for that now.
