Media Based Build

Hello

Im after a little help spec'ing up a new PC build. Basically, i have no idea where to start.

I current have an AMD 64 x2 1.90Ghz, 2GB Ram Laptop. On it i primarily run Itunes (very slowly) and use it connected up to a TV to watch videos / films etc. I also 'try' to run Football Manager 09 on it, but i cant get past the title screen without it hanging.

So, i would like to custom build a machine that will cope with the above. A HDMI connection would be handy, but no essential. I would like the system to be 'upgradable' in case i need it to do more in future.

Do anyone have any recommendations?

This isnt particuarly game friendly but should do for football manager, just dont try any FPS

Does that count as a competitor site? I would take off the link. But i know that case, it's from another competitor and it uses a stupid PSU, also you DO NOT want a Phenom I. They're rubbish.

Thanks for everything so far. If i wanted to go quad core, what would be the best processor? while still keeping the cost down?

Probably the 940, but you might be able to unlock a 550 or 720. You would need a different motherboard, and it barely ever works so just leave it out of the equation
