Behind you... Naked!
I have been working on getting the perfect Media Center going here.

What started off as a quick way to help me cope with my disabilities, has kind of ended up with me being so utterly anal about my Media Center now.

So much so, that I now have 3 of the buggers, 2 of which have 2 cards!

now, there ios a few issues that I have, and I just cannot quite seem to get the perfect setup.

For example, so far, I have tried 4 Media center apps.

1 - Windows Media Center ( as I have the remote from my old XP MCE that works a treat )
2 - Korean Media Player

3 - XBMC

4 - JRiver Media Center19

Now, the way that Windows Media Center works, I kind of like.

I despise the way you playback movies and recorded TV mind you, but it records in the background and thats great... I have it set up to record a whole load of stuff some I want, some I dont, just to see how its doing it, and its great, but with one seriously annoying issue.

Even though, you select, lets say Coronation Street and it starts at 7:30 till 8:00, the recording starts and fiishes at those times, rather than when the program acually starts.

Sure, I can select to record from a minute or three before and stop it a minute or three after the times, but then I end up with a chunk of junk I dont want?

Is there any way that I can get it to record when the program starts and stops when the program finishes... Like the HD Recorder does?

Similar issue with JRiver actually. Im not sure I like the interface but again, recording is not really that strict and in teh tests I have done, I often miss the first half minute or it sometimes finishes recording a few seconds before the program ends. ( Windows MCE does that too - Bloody irritating )

Korean player does not recoprd, but I absolutely love the way you can categorize the TV programs and movies into series and so on.

XMBC or XBMC or whatever?
Now, this one is a pain in the bum for me.
no matter what I do, it always seems to end up moaning about it missing some thing or some file to work fully, or at least to try using the Digital TV card I mean.
As a Media player, its actually nice.

What the hell am I trying to ask here?

Well, ok, as the recording start / end issue I suppose?

Is there any Media Center software, or setting, that will let me start and stop the recording of a program when teh program actually starts and stops, instead of just having it start / stop at the times its shown?

Thanks in advance.
