I have thinking of building or buying a Window XP Media Center PC.
I have seen the following in a high street shop for £749.99 it comes with a very nice keyboard which comes with a little mouse joystick built in which i want as i will be running it through my 27" LCD which is a TV so that would be better. It will be connected to my 360 if that makes a difference?
Intel Pentium 4 630 Processor
3.0GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2Mb Cache
1024Mb DDR RAM
250Gb Hard Disk
Multi-Format Dual Layer DVD-RW Drive
256Mb nVidia 6200 TurboCache Graphics
Built-in Digital TV Tuner + Remote
802.11g Wireless Network Ready
Wireless Keyboard + Mouse
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center
To be honest I dont really need the TV tuner and maybe a bigger HDD would be nice. Would I be better off specing something and building it myself? I will also have it running through some 5.1 speakers.. optical hopefully, I do have a SoundBlaster Live external USB sound card. Last PC I built was a 2600+ but haven't really looked into computers since. I wouldn't mind saving a bit of money though as £750 is quite a lot for a little PC to use with your TV. I do want it pretty fast thought as it will be used as my main PC to play music, videos, brouse the web, msn etc maybe some games. Also is Media Center a lot different from XP? As I don't really want to use it as only a Media Center. Thanks in advance for any help.
