Is there a way of getting the pc to turn on/off via remote control?

I don't leave my system on over nyt as its too loud, and really cant be bothered to keep getting outta bed to turn the system off.

is there a way to do this?

I do gave a pretty good poking pole I could use. (And no. I'm not talking about my manhood. Kind of!!!) Spose i could keep it by my bed.
