Having just reinstalled WindowsXP MCE after ditching Vista Home Premium, my remote control no longer functions as it used to. Previously, I'd press the power button on the remote control to put the system into standby mode, and then again to wake it up again. Whilst pressing the button to put it into standby mode still works, the remote will no longer wake the system up again. I press the button on the remote, and the reciever box flashes a red light, but nothing happens. I've checked the BIOS and my power settings are as they were before, with S3 mode selected.

Any ideas? It's beginning to look like I'll have to reinstall Windows again if I can't find a fix for this.

TIA,

Michael.

Looked in power settings in CP?

Yes, both the power button and sleep button are set to put the computer into standby mode. The problem isn't getting it into standby mode, it's getting it out again. The power button will make the computer up, but the remote won't.

Are you sure the bios is set to allow usb devices to wake the pc?
And have you got the latest chipset drivers? Old chipset drivers caused this problem for me once.
