Hi All,
Finally decided to try Vista as I've added a TV card to my home server so I picked up a copy of Vista Home premium.
Installed ok but it seems that Vista Home Premium doesn't support remote desktop login though I've found a patch that enables it for now.
The other hassle is that it doesn't seem to like my Raid card software (Revo 64). The array works fine, I've just no way to monitor it other than check the screen during a reboot .... not ideal!
And finally my CCTV card Geo-vision GV-250 is a little sulky and has been know to lock up a few times so far.
No I'm liking Vista but it seems to be causing be trouble on the server so I'm thinking perhaps XP media center would be a better fit while I can still get a copy. I was running XP pro before without issue and only upgraded as I replaced the board and chip so figures a fresh start with Vista would give some longevity.
Are there any major differences in media centre between XP and Vista?
All I'm looking for is to run a dual tuner (Nova-T 500 PCI) with a guide and be able to record programmes and watch on a couple of PC's and an xbox 360.
Does Vista do this any better than XP....
I haven't activated Vista yet ... making the most of the 30 days.... any help welcome
