Jsut installed Media Player 11 and now whenever I put my mp3 player in it's recognised as a media devide rather than a removable drive and will only let em store music on it.
is there any way to have it recognised as a removable drive again without having to uninstall media player?

its recognized as a removeable device in My Computer, click on that and itll be under your HDD(s)

It's just recognised as a media device in my computer. It used to be a removable drive until I installed Media Player 11 but surely there is a way of using my mp3 player as a removable drive without uninstalling it

The removable drive in the screenshot is an SD slot on my printer BTW, not my mp3 player ;)

right click > explore?

I can get up a list of files in explorer fine, the problem is that I cant put anything on it other than music wheras before I could put anything on it and use it as a thumb drive too

I can put files onti it with drag and drop, but only music files.

All the menus in mp11 have changed so the options and everything are nto how they used to be. It has made it a lot easier to use normally but anyone who wants to use a menu will have to figure out how or just suffer.

There is an option under devices about creating a hierachy on the device and i suspect this is what is causing the problem. This option and the others around it are disabled.

The only option it seems to allow me to do is rename it or format it?
Do you think formatting it will help?
In the manual of my last mp3 player it said that formatting it would stop it from being able to play music.

Edit: Just tried it on another PC and it is showing up fine as a removable drive. Going to do a system restore to roll back to before i installed mp11

Another Edit: Just fixed it, still not a removable drive but better than before. I uninstalled mp11 and the runtime files. now it still shows up as a portable device but it also has a data folder now :)
