yeah, i did think about getting another drive, and i may still, depending on money. as for the motherboard, ill have a look at the asus thanks for the tip. and the last note about the analog tuners, i cant receive freeview in this area anyway, for the minute ill use it to run sky through the RF ( i have found out you can run sky though a DVB-S card but you need a card reader as well as a programmer and you have to do some hacking, all way too mcuh for me atm) and ill probably geta dual LNB and another sky box to run freesat through the other input, not the greatest setup i know, wont be able to use any kind of epg, but it will mean i can record off one and view the other at the same time.

if anyone knows a better way of running sky though the pc, please let me know coz im quite new to this.

to be honest im not to worried about being able to watch HDTV at the mo, i just wanted to make sure that in 12 months down the line, if and when HD is more common place, i dont have to go get a new tv. i can always upgrade the graphics when i want to, although i will look at the msi board mentioned.
