Hey guys,

A m8 of mine asked me to build him a Media pc wich he can connect to his TV.
All he wants to do is internet browsing via the TV and want to download on it.
So he would need around 2tb storage. and HDMI possibilities.

I was thinking myself for this:
Samsung green 2TB hdd
Kingston value 2 GB ram
Amd Athlon x2 255
ASUS M4A88T-I Deluxe mobo.
and some small case.

Any1 could spec me something better or cheaper. he aims around 250€ but the cheaper the better.

Thnx greetz!

maybe Acer Revo + 2tb external hard drive might do trick

amd x2 + mobo not so sure on

I'd rather go for zacate system (aka hudson) it got cpu, decent integrated gpu (hd 6310) and motherbaord all in mini-itx form factor so will fit in smallest of cases.

zacate will be bit more expensive maybe 20-30 pounds more but will run cooler/quieter and use less power.

2Gig ram is fine
do you already have an operating system? cause thats liek £70 just for windows kinda blows apart your budget.

As above to reiterate AMD Zacate will be perfect. The integrated HD6310 will help with playback of HD video particularly smooth 24fps Blu Rays if he needs to. Not many choices of small cases on OcUK but something along the lines of the following will be perfect.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus AMD E35M1-M PRO Hudson M1 Integrated Dual Core Zacate 18W APU SATA-600 DDR3 mATX (Fusion) £109.99
1 x Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB SATA-II 64MB Cache - OEM (WD20EARS) £59.99
1 x Fractal Design Core 1000 Midi Tower Case - Black £35.99
1 x Lepa N-Series 400W Power Supply £24.98
1 x Corsair Value 2GB (1x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Low-Voltage Single Channel Module (VS2GB1333D3) £11.99
Total : £257.04 (includes shipping : £11.75).

The other option is of course the Revo but depends on how much storage is really needed and whether he minds the mess of external drives. The above also has the benefit that he could add to it later on with TV tuner cards/wifi card etc.
