At the moment i'm using my main PC with a long hdmi cable feeding the AV, looking at move away from this and just have a low powered pc capable of with kodi etc sat under the tv.

Any recommendations? don't want to be spending £300 - £400 though.

Spend under £100 on an Amazon Fire TV, Roku or Chromecast and get Plex installed. You may even find you can run Plex from your TV, Xbox One or PS4.

Personally the Amazon Fire / Roku wins it for me because they include a remote and I enjoy using my Harmony all in one to control everything.

Plex, like Kodi, is free so it's worth experimenting with.

Anyway, get it installed on your PC and use it as a server. Further down the line as you start seeing the benefits spend the £300 building a server so you don't have to have your PC on all the time.

In time expand your Amazon Fire TV install base to include you bedrooms, study etc and start living living like a man.

Or, if you're determined to go down the all in one route then then Intel NUCs are probably the way to go. Unless you've got space for a standard size case hidden away then you can probably save money just building with regular components.

I really should have filled my initial post out with some more info :)

Current setup is
Del T20 sat in the cupboard feeding a few rooms in the house.
Got a fire tv stick running plex in the conservatory
Chromecast in the other room.
Then I've got my main gaming pc feeding the tv in the other room with a long hdmi.

So looking really at a windows based pc for the room. I got my parents a Zotac Z-Box Mini PC which is perfect but a couple of years old now so looking for something similar.

Always tended to prefer kodi of plex for my main tv due to the addons and interface.

You can run Kodi on the Fire TV box (which is a lot more powerful than the stick).

If you're just running videos through it then theres really little need for a full machine. Kodi and a Fire TV will run pretty much anything.
