...bookmark a video and come back to it later? It drives me mad having to look for your place! Surely it can be done.

right click media file > add to > additonal playlists > create playlist

I think he means bookmarking a particular 'place' in the video, rather than the video itself.

If that is the case, sorry, as far as I know, that cant be done

media player classic can do it, using the "add to favourites" feature.
