When I try to view a web based video clip firefox decides to crash. It only seems to happen with the Windows Media Player plugin. I get the error message about "firefox.exe performing a illegal operation and needs to be closed.....blah, blah.....An error log has been created". Downloaded videos run fine.

I thought it might just be a problem with Firefox but Explorer also crashes when trying to view the same video. Tried reinstalling Media player 9 but at the end it tells me an error prevented it from finishing and fails to tell me why! It was working fine a few days ago.

Also, where does it put those error logs it keeps telling me its creates? Running Windows 2000.

I cannot help you with the problem you have with Media player , but, on XP the error logs are in Control Panel/administrative tools/ event viewer . I wonder if it's the same for windows 2000 ??

The only thing in the event viewer is Application, System and Security Logs and non eof them have anything documented with regards to media player or even when the error occured.
