Media player for rear headrests.

I've got a 2011 Peugoet 5008 with headrest screens in the rear. They get the picture from two avi inputs in the rear on the composite yellow, red, white plug type of input. Two sets so you can watch two different sources or both select the same. A 12v supply just above this.

I'm wondering what I can best buy that will enable them to be used. Its ether a 12v dvd player although most of these seem to have a screen but surely there is a media player that could output something from a memory card? I'm searching and I just can't find something that will do the job! Crazy thing is that the head unit is dvd but it can't serve the rear screens, only the satnav screen when the car is stopped..

Any pointers?

Not elegant but a raspberry pi would do what you need

Not against the idea of this, looks like it could be powered by usb but can I get the video out i need?

You can get an HDMI to composite convertor shouldn't need power so just USB to the Pi.

Up until the Model 3(?) I'm pretty sure the Raspberry Pi has a composite connector natively... so maybe get hold of one of those slightly older ones and couple with some kind of media front end.
