Media Player fully loading my system!

Windows media player has decided it wants to use 97-99% of my CPU and between 90 and 180Mb of RAM. It's only done this since yesterday and nothing in my system has changed apart from today I got WMP11 to see if that fixed the problem which it didn't.

Any ideas?

No, it's all inside on the windows partition. It just started doing it yesterday and I can't figure out why. It's very strange :confused:

Mine used to do this aswell (it probably still does). Want a solution? Dont use it.

There are many, and often better, alternatives for media players out there.
I use iTunes for mp3's and the like (purely for its superb interface) and MPC for movies.

Don't really want to stop using WMP, I think it's ace. I'm defragging now so I'll see if that helps.

I had this once, tried everything but couldn't fix it. In the end I had to reformat and that fixed it. Probably not the answer you were hoping for but meh.
