Media Player Library Issue

Ok so does anyone else have constant refresh issues with windows media player library when its opened?
I know its not the best player in the world, but I only use it for music as I like having it all there with album covers etc, and for streaming video to my PS3.

But every time I add something to any of the library folders, for video or music, it won't then just add the file to the media library like it should, but the whole library had to be rebuilt! Thumbnails and all!
Its really irritating, especially if your in a hurry n you just want a certain song on while you get ready you know!? 'Cause it's always the last one to load!!

Has anyone else figured this out and fixed it as it's doing my head in!

no!...anyway....

I used the Media Player for streaming Music and Videos and I had this problem on my old computer; turning indexing back on in Win7 (which I disabled when I installed my SSD) seemed to have fixed it.
On my new computer the library is now nicely now up-to-date but doesn't stream correctly....it looks like as soon you fix a problem you get a new one :(

Huh? I don't get it

turning indexing back on in Win7 (which I disabled when I installed my SSD) seemed to have fixed it.

So do you think I should try the indexing? Or was it worse with the streaming issue?
Do you think it could be due to my library being split over the internal drive for music and external for video?

Although I'm pretty sure it hasnt been like this forever

it depends if you have switched it off (maybe because you installed a SSD and read that this is a recommended)...give it a try.

Sorry to have confused you with my streaming comments...that's only related to my current media player problems and as far I'm aware not linked to indexing

Another point I forgot to mention is that I believe (!!) that -depending on the size of your libraries (My pictures, My Music, My Videos or whatever directory holds your media files) Media Player tends to become unreliable/unstable. The only workaround is to restrict your libraries, folders to what you really need streaming....I have about 29000 music files in 8000 folders, 17000 pictures in 500 folders and about 602 video files this tends to kill not only my media player but also my Logitech media server, so I have setup specific folders for streaming purposes...not ideal as I duplicate media files but I haven't found a workaround yet.

Ok well thanks for your input anyway I guess I'll just have to keep trying things till it sorts it out!
May be because I too have large libraries. 10,000 songs/43GB of music on second partition and 655GB of video on an external!! lol
