Basically guys im thinking of getting a media player for my tv eg WD TV but the thing is most of my movies are 1080p .m2ts now the few media players ive researched atm dont support .m2ts so i was just wondering can anyone recommend me a program i can use to convert my .m2ts to something else without loss of quality (there blu ray rips atm) and or recommend me a media player...
Thanks guys

Bit too expensive for what i wanted....ive just found a decent one for £18 and it does up to 720p so will that mean it wont run my 1080p files or just output them at 1080? and also can anyone recommend me a program to convert .m2ts to another file but without loss of quality so it can be played.

i think ripbot might be able to convert the files, it can convert to m2ts and mkv, itsp ossible it'll convert from one to the other too.

does ur player support mkv ?

Nah....

Standard video output 480i/576i via composite interface
Video format support: MPEG1/2/4(MPG, VOB, AVI), DivX(avi), XviD(avi), resolution up to 720 x 480 30fps / 720 x 576 25fps.

Does that mean it will play in 1080p or ?

Thanks chipps101 but ive decided to just get another hdmi cable and power cable and leave them always plugged in the tv then i simply bring in my ps3 when need be as that plays everything i need and at 1080p....thanks again guys

You could get a ps3 (even second hand one). you can use tversity to stream content. The ps3 can't play mkv files but it's easy to convert them to vob format. m2ts should be ok, may have to rename to mpg....i haven't tried on my ps3

Just a thought

Ive already got a ps3..and it plays all my files but i just fancied a little media player for my tv but now im just gonna use my ps3.

it's what i do too. Tversity is worth checking out its a handy lil app, you can even access your files for playback off the net.

Maybe you could upgrade the HDD to store more video if you havent upgraded already
