Hi.

Dont have media sharing in WMP as I deleted network and sharing center (I know.. dont ask)

I need something that can do the same as WMP as I want to pipe some music and movies to the PS3 so need a media server.

Any ideas of a simple and easy one?

Thanks
Will.

No, dont know how to, its connected now though but some movies are all garbled, a couple of HD ones seem to be working but the server randomly disconnects.

What port do I forward?

you may need to open whatever port TVersity is running on, you can find it in settings, but since its connected now thats unlikely to be the issue.

When you say that movies are garbled, are they jumpy? Correct image but with wierd colours, artifacts, or just general rubbish?

Could be a codec issue, what codecs are you using on your server system?

Its running from my main PC.

I have an old Celeron 1.2Ghz system with 384mb ram, would that be any good to run this Tversity system from even with HD movies?

The movies are ok quality, its the sound on some, its all like your under water garbled sound.

Using the following codecs:

Install Haali Media Splitter
FFD Show
AC3 Filter
K-Lite codec pack
That mkdev or w/e it is for HD movies

I cant see the 1.2 cely handling 1080 at all well, you'd have so many dropped frames it'd be like wathing a slideshow.

It may be codec issue, klite codec pack should have ffd show, ac3 and various other things built in. Having a seperate version can cause conflicts. Personally I would recommened uninstalling all codecs and just having this

or at least take off everything but the latest klite and go from there. I take it all the files play ok through the computer?

Yep they all play fine through the computer.

I'll give it a try later uninstalling it all, cant atm my dad decided to try watching a film :p
