ok, so I setup WHS 2011 and stupidly on my laptop deleted the media server part from my laptops network location part of my computer page. is there any way to get it back.

Expand the Ribbon at the top of the explorer window and choose the computer tab.
You should see an "Access media" icon with drop down arrow. Select that and choose "connect to a media server". Follow the prompts and you will be able to add your Media Server back.
