Where are you sharing from? You shouldn't need port forwards if it's done locally.

Ultimately i want to get a channel with cable stations and satellite stations onto my roku tv stick, via some media server, i currently have plex running other apps channels and im convincing myself theres a way to get such a channel, but im struggling to find and reach that goal
