Hi all, hope you can help......

I've recently bought a Sumsung D7000 46" LED tv and would like to media share with my pc over a wireless network. My pc is hard wired to the super hub which is located quite close to the tv. I can surf the net on the tv so i know the tv can see the super hub.

Any links or detailed info would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

Steve. (Network Noob) :)

You can buy a Viewsonic VMP74 for around £59 and a decent USB wifi adapter for less than £20 and it will do what you want.
I have 2 upstairs and they work great.

Can you not connect the TV to the HUB with a Cat 5 cable?

Install samsung media share on the PC choose the shared folders for media and the TV will do the rest

You do not need to waste money on another box as dmpoole suggest. Pointless

Easyrider is correct, page 236

Connecting to the PC through network
You can play pictures, music and videos saved on your PC through a network
connection in the AllShare mode.
1. For more information on how to configure your network, refer to “Setting the
Network”.
●● You are recommended to locate both TV and PC in same subnet. The first
3 parts of the subnet address of the TV and the PC IP addresses should be
the same and only the last part (the host address) should be changed. (e.g.
IP Address: 123.456.789.**)

Agree with Easyrider
I have the same TV and use DLNA to share movies, music, photos from my PC elsewhere in the house. Dont use Wifi connection though, its not sufficient for large files.

I have the C7700 actually (euro one with built in Sat decoder), the previous model to the D7xxx.. and it plays MKV, so the D models should as well.
The only format I have which the C didn't play are M2TS and ISO files.

Ok...Tried that with a cat6 cable(not that that should make any difference) The tv sees the pc and i've got samsung all share on the pc which is what the tv uses. Do i need to do something with the tv like switch source or something? Starting to annoy me now, i know it's something simple.

Its really simple once you got it running.
I am not in front of mine, but think you need to go to your PC and ensure that the DLNA client has found the TV and click the share/allow button (share> set device policy). (n.b if you have a dynamic IP on the TV, you may have to do this several times depending on what other devices are on etc) Cant remember if you need to allow anything in your firewall or not.

Once you have setup the networking on the TV (if internet TV works, you should be good), go to "Sources" and the name of your PC or shared folder should be there somewhere (e.g DLNA -> ADMIN PC) . Just select it and you should see your folders.

be aware, the bundled Share Manager software is not great, so If your shared folders are on external drives, or not on C:/, they may be selectable in the client. So then you can make a clone/shortcut of that folder onto C and select that instead. http://forums.cnet.com/7723-13973_102-504826.html

Also in my experience, adding too many new files at once breaks the sync function of the DLNA client. So if you get an error message. Start again by adding 100 files at a time or something..

I am sure the non-bundled DLNA clients available on line are much better.. But now I got the hang of the Share Manager I dont mind it.
