hi, looking for some software that will stream the same music on several pcs at the same time. have tried VLC but it seems a bit flakey. all machines are on windows 8.

The only one i use is vlc you can also use windows media player i havent tried it because of vlc whats your issues.

my issue with vlc was it would randomly switch from playing it over the network to just playing it on the host pc, then playing the next track over the network again. it just felt really flakey overall.

I use Subsonic along with MiniSub and can stream my music from anywhere in the world.
You can setup user accounts with varying permissions as well. (ie: ability to download, upload, just listen, limit bandwidth, etc.)

(Minisub isn't necessary, but it's great)
