When the PS3 first came out, i was quite excited about the media streaming feature, so i bought MediaLink by Nullriver but never managed to get a good flow of data for some stupid reason, the video would stop/start and was not watchable..

So i thought i'd just be patient and wait for a few updates for both MediaLink and the PS3... now we are a good while later and i've just tried it out again and there is no change...

The problem must be one of three things, the PS3, the streaming software or the network... has anyone else had problems with this and could point me in the right direction to sort it out?

considering streaming a movie is perfectly viable over an internet connection its fairly pathetic that I can't do it over a LAN...

What hardware are you using: Mac, networking, etc?

What format are the videos you're trying to stream?

Give us something to work with :p

Possibly some misconfiguration on the router, I'd have to look at it to get a better idea.

Leopard or Tiger? Firewall disabled?

I've got a similar setup (MBP, Linksys WAG200G, 80GB PS3) and MediaLink is working fine.

I have the Apple Firewall (under Security in System Prefs in Leopard) turned off, and none of the Sharing options enabled. MBP and PS3 are set to connect to the router using DHCP, and UPnP is enabled (look at what ports it's using if you have that off).

Hope that helps :)
