I have a media server configured with lots of disk and three TV tuners, all under management via Mediaportal.
I'd like to be able to remote control this over the internet (e.g. scheduling recordings via the EPG).
Is there a configuration option or plugin that will let me do this via HTTP(S)?
If (instead, or in addition) I choose to open a direct connection to the server, what ports do I need to open for a Mediaportal client to be able to connect to the server, view the EPG, schedule recordings, etc.
What additional ports do I need open for streaming live/recorded TV?
Are there any security implications I need to know about? I'm happy to secure all the ports I open should I need to do so.
Thanks.
PS - I did have a hunt around the Mediaportal site. I found a list of ports but no obvious indications of what they're for or when they're needed.
