Medion.....spare parts

Guys,
i need a battery cover for a Medion Life X47002 HD camcorder, but the eejits at Medion apparently don't offer it as a spare part.
Is this right, or could there be something lost in translation seeing as they aint english. My original request was pretty clear as to what i was asking for.
They replied to my original email and said

All battery products are third party supply products , if you take the battery to a local camera store, they should be able to assist you.

Way to pass the buck medion!

So i replied, correcting them and saying that is was a PLASTIC REMOVABLE BATTERY COVER that i required, NOT the battery itself. Their reply?

Really? So the camcorder is now usless because they don't supply spare battery covers?

I've looked on ebay for a cheap one, but there is only one, and its white. I need black.

The camcorder is actually my friends. I borrowed it....long story short, it went back without the battery cover and he says the battery falls out without the cover on.
Whether it does or doesn't is obviously not the point, i owe him one battery cover.

Anyone got any advice to offer on what i can do please?

well....i'm bidding on the white one. He aint bothered about painting it though, lol.
