Hi,

i have a 10 speed 11/36 cassette and am going to replace the triple crank with an SLX M675 38/24 double crank, will i have any problems using the my SLX M675 shadow + long cage.
Using the mech calculator 14+25 i need a capacity of 39 which is long cage.
But my large BMC TE03 29er has a 440mm chainstay length which i believe is shorter than the norm.
The original crank was a 42/32/24

don't MTB RDs have a clutch? So a shorter chainstay shouldn't matter with regards to the long RD cage?

Shorter or longer stays have nothing to do with derailleur capacity. Cage length is for how much slack there is between your highest and lowest gears.

Long cage will work fine.
