MEDUSA 5.1 headset crackles when i start bf2

Hi, please can anyone help me, when i run my headset in windows or ts2 it works perfect then if i start bf2 the sound has a white noise sort of crackling, if i alt+tab out back to desktop it works perfect again(even with bf2 running in the background).
i have all the latest drivers and machine is not overclocked

I get the exact same thing mate, although it happens to me in all games (I use comms in WoW when I'm playing with mates). If anyone has a solution to this I'd love you forever.
