Has anyone got a Medusa 5.1 headset with the amp?

I randomly get low level background noise. This mostly happens after the unit is switched on for an hour or so. It’s defiantly caused by the amp because when I have the headphone directly plugged into my X-fi card I have no problems.

Anyone else have this problem?

PS I don’t understand why the model without the amp needs external power cos they seem to work fine when directly plugged into my sound card?

I have an older version of the Medusas with a previous amp. My version of the amp doesn't have very good electromagnetic shielding. I regularly get interference from my WiFi or mobile phone signals. The WiFi causes a quiet buzzing sound but the mobile phone interference is loud and can be quite unpleasant. I've found I can minimise, or even eliminate, the Wi-Fi interference with careful placement of the amp. High volume input from the soundcard and lower volume of the amp / headphone volume control seems to help as well.

Could this be what you're experiencing?

WiFi makes a ticking noise on mine, and the mobile phone galloping horses deafen me :(
