Meego - slightly late to the party!

I didn't realise until just now that support for Meego would be ending soon, or official support at least. That's a shame, because I just installed it for the first time on my dusty old Acer Aspire One A110 and it's really good. Nice, slick interface and it performs very well on this beaten up old machine. Previously we had Ubuntu on it which was really chugging; it's like having a new machine!

It only takes up 2 or 3 GB too, which is great when the A110's SSD is only 8 GB in size, heh. I'm thoroughly impressed, I really am. It's a shame it doesn't seem to have ever taken off.

It's supposedly going to transform into Tizen, and be amalgamated with some other mobile style distros. If it ever will is anyones guess though, just a waiting game...

Yeah I'll follow Tizen's development and check it out when it's released I suppose. There's always the chance that some of the community behind Meego will stick with it and support it, so you never know!

This! I've got Anroid on there at the moment but it's a bit meh, Meego looks fantastic for this sort of device.
