mega storms uk next week

Unless we're talking the day after tomorrow levels we'll be fine.

:p

It was pretty heavy rain wise here Tuesday night. Not seen it like that for a while, was quite enjoyable.

Seriously, I don't know how the Daily Mail don't get sued incessantly for producing such ridiculous amounts of horse****.

We might have some windy weather next week. Boo hoo. The sensationalist headlines from the DM to be hoovered up by retards across the country are just sensationalist tripe.

1987 I was 15. I was in bed thinking the roof is going to come off. Trees were bent parallel to the ground.

Last storm we had was about 2007 I could feel the gable end moving.

I might try to see if I can get some KOM strava segments on the tail wind!

a bit of wind in the south and it becomes national news..people in the western isles just roll their eyes, if they dont have to tether the livestock to stop them blowing away it isnt a proper storm

I went up the west coast and onto some of the islands when I was a kid. Quite a change from southeast England! I remember sticking my hand in a stream by the bottom of a mountain because I was curious. Damn, that was cold.

I say this every year, since some guy in 2011 (about Katia) said that it was going to "destroy" the UK. Of course, it never happened, and his blog post became quietly unlinked from most of the internet...

So, what's "mega" about some strong winds?

UK Set For 'Hurricane'

Don't hotlink images - Rilot

A series of wind, rain and flood alerts are now in place as forecasters predict gales of more than 80mph - classed as hurricane strength.

The Met Office warned people to "be prepared for the risk of falling trees as well as damage to buildings and other structures".

The storm is currently developing over the Atlantic and will potentially hit UK land on Sunday night and into Monday. Ah found the mega storms uk next week thread, delete :)
