Megane Coupe suspension/modification question?

My mate has just brought a 1996 1.6e Megane Coupe. Some noob of a previous owner has lowered the suspension at the rear, and he was wondering how much hassle and the cost of putting it back? Also he thinks that the back box may have been changed, how much is a std one?

What are the best insurers for modified cars if he was to leave it as it is? How much do this sort of things normally add?

Sounds like it had lowering stuff on the front and the rear was dropped to match. It is just a rotating bar which control the rear height. Best bet is to wander over to the renault megane coupe club and ask over there for a quick answer.
