dear all, my bios says I'm running at what i should be 2100MhZ

But i look at cpu z and it says im running single channel cutting my Mhz by half and showing only 1000Mhz

yet im showing 8gb which is correct for the amount of ram in my system

mobo =MSI MPOWER MAX
RAM = CORSAIR VENGENCE MATCHED PAIR

pic is a little large i do apologise for that

What slots do you have the RAM in?

1 and 2 mate

hang on though here is my cpu and other info in the next pic

my cpu keeps changing its ratio.... i bet i have something set to throttle my system untill its needed...... which it looks like it may be doing the same to my mem....

my cpu should be x40 at 4ghz

just to update the cpu was set to dynamic

but still i have the mem saying single channel running way slower then it should be but bios says what it should be

Your ram speed is correct, but as above to get it in dual channel mode you need to use slots 2 + 4 on your motherboard. Like in this shot below.

well everyday is a school day lol even for the older man.... thank you d brennen

now its saying duel channel but the mhz is still reading like before low mHz. any idea why im losing mhz? its still reading 1000ish

so its correct if its saying 1000ish i can take no notice of this value and be assured if its duel channel its running at 2000ish?

As d brennen has posted above, you need to double what it says in the cpu-z memory readout. Your memory is running as it should.:) Im running 1600mhz memory, as you can see cpu-z shows it as 800mhz.
