My cossair 8500 mem was setup under my P5Q-E mobo with 5-5-5-18 timing, the memory itself is cable of and has been tested to 5-5-5-15 so i went into the bios and set the timing control to manual, it now shows as 5-5-5-15 in cpu z, what kind of affect does these timing settings have in games? an i go lower/better? i'm mainly a gamer so if this has no effect i'l just leave the setting's back on auto 5-5-5-18

Lower is better, but that change isnt going to make a blind bit of difference.

I know 3d mark isnt the best for testing real world situations but i got a better score with 5-5-5-15 @ 1098mhz with a 4:5 divider than i got with 4-4-4-14 @ 845mhz with a 1:1 divider!? (although it was only about 150 points more) So i think its better just to play around with your own system and see whats best for you.
