Hey,

A good friend of mine was round at my flat a few days ago, and when he logs in on here, he has member section options at the bottom of the main forum page, inclusive of a sale area...

How can i go about gaining access to this forbidden haven ?

you have to reach a certain number of posts, activate your trust and wait for the upgrade, it's all explained in the FAQ, there's link right up

I used to have access till they reset the forums a couple of years ago

Not under that account you couldn't have.

A September 2006 join date means that you would always have needed 250+ posts and to be a member for upwards of 3 months. The "big nuke" was in October 2002 when the forums were reset.
