I have been a member of these forums for over two years but due to my job as a long distance lorry driver i am very rarely at home and the time i am at home is usually absorbed with family stuff. When i first became a member it was required to have a minimum of 100 posts to gain access to the members market now it seems to be 250, as fore-mentioned it is very difficult for me to make posts (unlike someone who sits infront of a computer all day) and yet i would really like to gain access to the M'M. Am i just going to have to keep my chin up till i make the required amount of posts (i average 0.17 a day!!) or is there a way round this?

You could email a moderator and ask if they would allow you access before the required number of posts, it can be allowed on a discretionary basis I believe, maybe if you have some form of references on another website or similar that you can use to prove your trustworthiness that may help. :)

I'm in a similar position but ive only got another 80 odd posts to go now :D

Thing is i dont want to spam the forum with 1 word responses, i sometimes wonder where some people find the time to make so many posts..

Simmilar situation.. ive been on these forums a while and just don't get a chance to post much. Ah well.. not many posts to go for me :)

I find that simply reading threads and replying where you have useful information that can help the other posters in the thread will get your post count up quickly.

Also I think it must be more then 250 posts now because I don't have access to the market. Pity as I have a bunch of old hardware I'd put up there for sale.

Nope it is 250 posts and 90 days (or more) still, you haven't enabled your Trust though (small blue button next to "Quote" and "Edit" which appear after every post), once you do that you should find you have access within 24 hours. It isn't all that exciting if I'm being honest but it does come in handy on occasion. :)

You know what I never even looked at that button before. Thanks for the help. It was already ticked so not sure if it's done anything. I mightn't be quite 90 days yet.

Sorry, i dont think the rules will be changed or exceptions made because someone hasn't got time to post or contribute.

If that was the case then he wouldn't have time to access the MM

The rule was made so people became known to the community rather than people coming on here and ripping people off (im not in any way saying you would) but you can understand why from the admins point of view as it ensures a safe community when money is changing hands.
