Hi all

I have a Asus Rog Strix G532LWS 15" Gaming Laptop and wanting to upgrade my memory to the crucial Ballistic 3200mhz 16GB X2

The memory is listed as 1.35v but my memory is only running 3200mhz but is only 1.2v

I can't anyway in the bios to change the voltage , will it be ok to install and would it still run at 3200mhz and CL16 ?

If the manufacture has marked the memory at 1.35v for certain timings / speed, then it probably requires that voltage.

You could try it, however I would be buying memory rated for 1.2v.

Does XMP change voltage also? I would have replied sooner, however not 100% sure if XMP can do this?

An extra thing to consider to above. Even if the voltage is increased to 1.35v, could that cause an issue with thermals, given the memory will run warmer combined with the thermal constraints laptops have?

You got it. Laptop thermals are more of a concern than for desktops. Also battery life.

You could always email the laptop manufacturer through their support/contact pages to ask, if their documentation isn't clear.
