Planning on buying a 775 mobo/cooler to fit my q6600 in since it's current mobo is pants (asus p5n-e sli). Never clocked it before. Using 2x 1gb and 2x 512mb of Nanya Technology memory, I think they're identical apart from capacity, will it affect my overclock if I use them instead of 2x2gb?

Also is this board ok, not sure the VID on the q6600 since I don't have it with me atm, so no idea how far it'll overclock.

Your proposal for RAM population won't work - the motherboard has only a single pair of DDR2 DIMM slots

The HSF is excellent for the money

I have one of those MB's in my daughters PC - pretty good, although teh northbridge does seem to get a little warm - not erroring warm - but warm none the less.

Oops didn't notice that :(

Think it'll get too hot Oc'ing the q6600? If I'm lucky and it's a good chip, I'd like 3-3.2ghz for 24hr use. Will also be needing a new case too, maybe the antec 300, or something else that's cheaper :D

Lots of people seem to be getting half decent overclocks out of this relative cheap board so you should be OK. I like the Antec 300 - provides decent air flow.

The northbridge is warm but not a real concern - if you were going for extreme o/c you may wish to put additional cooling on it - but you will probably be fine.
