Memory Bandwidth Question.

Hi, My Network Guys want to upgrade my computer fro 2 x 256mb DDR2 PC4200 sticks in dual channel mode with 1gb DDR2 pc4200 stick which will obviously only be running in single channel mode so half the bandwidth, What sort of differance will this have on the performance is bandwidth more improtant than size on a business pc?
