hi all, overclocked my Q6600 to 3ghz the other day it works fine
run prime for 2 hours no problems

BUT every now and then when i reboot my pc hangs on the bios memory
test and instead of displaying the memory size it displays 41

and my overclocking changes to bios revert back to default setting ?

i have run memtest while the pc was at fsb333 for 8 hours withour error

the motherboard is a Gigabyte p35 ds3p

Before i class my pc stable i prime for 48 hours i have seen plenty do 24 then fail at 28-35 but i know still overkill. Some more info would definately help you get a resolution to this.

everything is stock volts only thing ive done is up the fsb to 333 and and lock the ram multiplier to 2.40 to give me 800

i have updated my bios to the latest version today ( see if this helps)

temps are fine about 50 - 55 max on full load :D

have to say since i done a bios update i have rebooted about 6 or 7 times and not had the problem again

will leave prime run tonight for about 8 hours see how it goes

OK it past the prime overnight test but a few days later on bootup reverted
back to the original clock so nothing has changed

so I guess it not as stable as it seems despite prime and memtesting overnight
without fault

could use some help at this point as I would like to keep this CPU @ a 333fsb
without it reverting back to it's default clock on bootup every few days
