Memory Branding

korean I think and claiming to be server memory whatever that means ? just looks like a no name budget brand to me, wouldn't touch it with a bargepole unless it's a dirt cheap deal and has a warranty where you don't have to send to korea for rma.

Hynix is a MAJOR RAM chip manufacturer, who make chips for most of the larger brands. They're what Hyundai Electronics renamed as a few years back.

Hynix are fine, same as Micron and Elpida, it's the same deal, you'll find Hynix chips on RAM from plenty of brands.

Lifetime warranty depends on the vendor/provider not Hynix.

We haven't been provided any details on warranty or where this comes from, the actual manufacturer however are fine, and are not an irreputable company, and there's no reason not go for them if they're RMA'd to the company you buy them from and have a decent warranty.

The OP asked if Hynix are fine, which they are, the rest depends on the packaging company!

Hynix is not a "no-name" company.

They make excellent memory, it's very likely some of the RAM you have bought before uses Hynix chips. We use loads of their ram in servers.

Okay, thanks guys.
£40 for 2GB of RAM at CAS7 latencies is perfect for my budget and build.
And obviously, its from a competitor or I would have posted links / info >_>

hynix used to make the memory used on nearly all graphics cards at one time, maybe they still do but its harder to tell when all the ram chips are covered.

they are not a no name budget cheapo company

Quite a lot of laptops from various vendors use hynix ram, seen it for sale regularly in members market.
