Memory Card for Wii...?

Hi all

As regards to memory card's for the Wii.

Can you use any SD Card? is there a size limit?

Any SD (Secure Digital) card. Fairly sure SD standard does not support higher than 4GB so that will be the maximum size you can use.

Wow, that's surprising. I'm sure SDHC has been out long before the Wii though?

EDIT - Wiki seems to suggest the SDHC specs came out as the Wii was still in it's codename phase.

Yeah, Im sure I read in the manual that the max size is 2gig so SDHC is a no go. Tried my Sandisk 4gig Micro Sd a few weeks back and the Wii didnt read it.
 
Further Googling confirms the Wii won't read anything over 2GB on an SD card. Interestingly though, there seemed to be suggestions of SDHC being supported under some homebrew environments making it appear it's purely a matter of firmware support.

It's probably to prevent people putting in 32gb SDHC cards loaded with ISO's.
