Memory card readers

I bought a BitFenix SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Card Reader from OCUK in April. I bought it because I wanted a fast built-in reader for my SLR's CF and SD cards (and their 50MB files). It has the added bonus that it brings a single USB3 socket to the front panel too.

Unfortunately, it hasn't been very good. It feels poorly made, and card insertion isn't very clean and positive. I've had occasional problems with USB3 compatibility with USB2 devices (which I understand is not uncommon), and intermittent failure with my memory cards. Currently, it's not working at all, so I'm going to have to take the PC apart later on (gives me a reason to check the air cooling, I suppose).

Has anyone had any experience of these card readers? Have I got a bad one? Can anyone suggest a better quality version which does CF, SD and USB3?

Thanks, folks. I got the BitFenix going again (loose connector, bizarrely), so no rush now, so long as I don't get any bent pins in the CF socket again. Will order an Akasa next time I shop for parts.
