Memory card to Portable HDD

I have an 80GB Nexto OTG, it's excellent and fast. It has a usb slot but I just use the main memory card slot. Just plug the cards in and it will suck everything off them. That's any data, RAW, JPG, AVI.. whatever). :)

It has a cheap LCD screen which tells you everything you need to know. The battery life is good and it comes with a padded wallet for extra protection. I took mine around New Zealand and came home with 60+gb of photo's and videos.

Cheap and solid plus you just got yourself a portable hard drive when you're not using it for photos.

I'm thinking of investing in one of these devices i can get the case for £20 deliverd just the HDD i think ill get from ocuk so £100 total is it worth the investment atm i only have a 1GIG CF Card and its full atm :D 266 photos go me!

If your willing to make one yourself they can be done and had pretty cheap. I got the card reading shell off the Internet (Hong Kong special) and then put in my own spare laptop HDD.

Total cost me around £35. However, what with CF cards becoming so cheap these days, my temptation is to move away from this solution just because CF cards I see as being more reliable in preventing data loss.

Another brand to throw in the hat is the Jobo Giga One. I believe the shell I bought off ebay is based around it but havn't seen one up close so can't be sure.

Well the way i see it say i buy an 80 gig HDD , i think in the long run it will be cheaper but as you have said CF cards are getting cheaper i dont know what the prices are this day n age i think (dumb me) paid out £45 + from Comet for 1GIG when i think they are £17 ish on the net
