Memory combo problem...

I have a PC with 2x512MB sticks in it, I want to add another 1GB stick, but here's the results;

2x512MB = Post
1GB = Post
1GB + 512MB = Post
2x512MB + 1GB = Wont post

Have tried every combination of memory slots. Am I missing something completely obvious?

Have you tried changing the command rate to 2T?

Whats your system specs?

Athlon 64 3800+
ECS KV lite Mobo
The memory sticks are generic PC3200

If you are using double sided Dimms then you may need to drop the memory speed down to PC2700 (333).

Tried all of the above, tried changing the timings etc but no joy... It just won't accept 3 sticks...

buy another 1 gb (exact same as current) sell ** 512's i think thers still many ppl out ther willin to buy em

(im not one of em.... so no)
