Hi,

I have an rather old motherboard: ABIT KX7-333R and it says in the manual that it supports "Four 184-pin DIMM slots support PC1600, PC 2100 DDR SDRAM modules". Was wondering if i buy a PC3200 (as they are relatively cheaper), would it work on my motherboard; somehow managing to work at the slower rate?

Or do i NEED to buy a PC 2700 DDR SDRAM instead?

Help is really appreciated.

Regards,

as far as i know you can buy the PC3200 memory you want to,
and easily set it to run at the slower speed within the motherboard bios at;

133(DDR266)(PC2100)
or
166(DDR333)(PC2700)

depending on which its happy with

take a look in your bios (and update it to the latest one available) and write down the ram speed options available and post back here... chances are you can
