I'm looking into investing in a new system soon based around the AMD AM3 Socket and have been looking into purchasing the Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P motherboard.

I've checked the specs and it says on the Gigabyte website that this has 4 DDR3 Memory slots @ 1.5v

My question is, does the memory have to run @ 1.5v? or will the motherboard just detect it as 1.5v and then be adjusted in the BIOS after to suit the correct voltage for the memory?

I appreciate any replies

That's what I was thinking that you would just be able to change the voltage in the BIOS to suit the specific brand of memory.

Thanks guys for both of your replies
