I've purchased some Team Extreme PC6400 CAS 3-3-3-8 memory.

However i've read that OC'ing them is not recommended on the stock heat spreader and fan coolling is suggested, so what do i do?

I've checked out the OcUK shop and cannot find coollers for memory (fan anyhow) are these available.

Or will the fact I will be getting a case with 8 fans in it suffice.

Help appreciated.

thanks for the info, still unsure how i'd fix the thing.

i wouldn't go water cooling, still too scared :D

the case i'm getting has 4 side panel fans , would they not direct enough air flow towards the ram?

is it easy to change heat spreaders ? would getting a different heat spreader be worth while?

i've just noticed http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-123-CS&tool=3 , i take it they don't hqave to be used on corfsairf - or do they?

To fit the Antec fan you undo a motherboard mounting screw, place the fan over the hole then put the screw back in. Voila! Fitted.

would you recommend this type of fan over the specific ram collers, the corsair one seems to have 3 fans, does it make much difference?

yeah i was thinking the same thing! I'm building a high spec machine, and see no point in scrimping, so i've added it to my shopping basket.

just need to decide what monitor to go for belinea 22" or asus 22" - cant wait till i build this mother and clock the socks off it :-)

1dmf has spent somewhere in the region of £400
WTF - no where near my friend!!!!

I have spent exactly £264.52 including postage for team 3-3-3-8 pc6400, bargain if you ask me :D

We're waiting!
- not long now i got my e6700 + seriously fast ram in post.

just hope my Mobo & 8800GTX turns up in time for xmas :D

Sure though I think i'd rather buy from OcUK at the same time as the other stuff I'm buying, No point in getting a ram cooler on its own else where, i'd just end up paying through the nose due to additional postage costs.

an additional £18.00 for the Corsair RAM cooler is hardly breaking the bank!

WJA96 - yeah tell me about it , no good you showing me the darn OCZ cooler now i've ordered the Corsair!!!!

Why weren't they all in the same place ???

well to save the hastle i've filled in an online order enquiry asking for them to switch it, I was unable to ring them as the number was constantly engaged.

Hopefully they can change it before shipping to me on Saturday, they are both the same price so I don't see it being a problem.

What is strange is they both now appear in the same place on the website! , is it me or do items seem to move about categories?

well I couldn't find any review on it but did find a forum with some cool pics :D

looks nicer than the dominator and fits both banks , which I have read the corsair doesn't!

man If i can't clock the socks off my system , i'll want to know why , I'm getting an 8 fan case, memory cooler, tuniq tower, even the 8800gtx has a fan on it , i'm loosing count of the amount of fans will be in my system, i have a feeling it's gonna sound like concorde

yeah I know, but i'd still rather do it this way than turn to water or something stupid like phase change.

I still can't bring myself to putting water/ice anywhere near my electronic beasty!

doesn't seem natural to me :D

No I understood that, it was the comment air can only do so much! meaning to go further water/phase would have to be the next step.

As much as I love those frosty pics, there's no way i'd do that to mine!

Oh well , I guess i've gone extreme with this build in terms of air, all i can to now is wait for delivery, build the sucker , and post my results :D
