Right, the situation is after 8 hours of building, rebuilding, crying and taking my mobo to back to the shop only to find out its fine i've narrowed down the problem to a faulty memory dimm.

Its almost laughable, for weeks i've cursed the living daylights out of this mobo resetting itself etc, while all this time its probably been the memory all along. :(

I've only had it about 3 weeks so its going back. 1st off, is it OC's problem or do i have to go direct to GeiL now?

Secondly, what should i do? I am certianly going to order some more memory before sending off my one good GB as i'll have no computer and have lots of work to do. Not totally put off by GeiL, but almost so, and was wondering should i order again and go 4gb, or do i just change to Corsair or OCZ and when the stuff comes back knock it out on MM for a loss?

4gb under Vista 64b sounds great, problem is, loads of people have had problems with 4gb of GeiL on my mobo (p35c DS3r) which is making me think, is it really the mobo, and not the memory? Have OC got a bad batch of GeiL, or do the two really not mix.

What do you think i should do?

Ta.

I think OcUK will deal with it if it's within the first 28 days.

If you don't want the Geil again the the OCZ and Corsair are about the same price (tho the Corsair is only on offter til Wednesday morning).

I was thinking getting 2 sets of Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX (2x1GB) for £79 delivered.

Would i get a refund from OC in full within 28 days?

Edit: Just checked on my order history, 10th november :(

I went with more GeiL in the end, ordered it this morning.

Although the Corsair is on a great special offer, i really can't be bothered with the hassle of ordering 4gb, then sending 2gb GeiL back to sell at least £10 loss.

so 4gb of GeiL it is (in a few weeks or however long it takes to send back to GeiL)
