Memory fans - are they required?

I bought some Corsair Dominator memory and it came with the Corsair fan unit to fit over the modules.
Is this really required? I only run the memory within its specified speed rating and fitting the fan unit I think compromises the CPU cooling as it is very close to the cooler fan for it.

Nah they're not required if you're not going to be running it at silly voltage.

Not really. Only if you want to overclock it a load. Just have good air flow in your case.
