Hey all,

at the end of the month, I will be purchasing a 9900k and Aorus Master Mobo, I'm looking at putting some 3200Mhz RAM in as it looks like there isn't much worth going higher for gaming? (I may be wrong, and please correct me if I am)

I'd ideally like 32Gb and done in 2x16GB sticks, but I have no idea what I am looking at for good RAM these days.

Any suggestions?

Cheers!

I bought a 9900K and my RAM choice was Corsair Vengeance LPX 32Gb (2*16) 3200MHz C18 latency.
All seems good so far, although I think 32GB might be too much for my usage.
XMP was set up without any issues on my ASUS Z3901-I mobo.
Corsair might not be the absolute best RAM, but it is always a safe bet.

I can recommend Corsair 32GB RGB Pro, I've got 2x16GB myself, it's 3000Mhz but will easily overclock to 3400Mhz just by bumping up the volts to 1.4, would probably go higher but there's no point, the gains are so marginal, in gaming at least, as to be meaningless.

...is a complete waste of money.

Not really. You got dual rank DRAM and that will get you less performance when overclocking. Also you are stating there is little performance uplift which means you are at bad stock timings. Once you start tightening the timings on decent overclocking RAM you will see a big performance uplift with increases in frequency. We are taking more than you will get via core overclocking. I have done 1 boot with 8-pack RAM @ 3800 CL14 with tight timings just under 1.5Volts. It's not a waste of money, there is real performance to be had. It's just up too you if you want to spend the time tuning your ram. Don't expent to get the same RAM performance as I get, each RAM kit is different.

If you don't want 8-pack RAM then you can buy ram from other brands and bin the RAM yourself. You might have to buy a lot of extra RAM kits to get the one that overclocks well or spend a lot of money on faster kits.
